"ISRAEL" SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES (SIOUXSIE SIOUX) **BEST HD QUALITY**
This is a tribute to post punk pre gothic rock superstar Siouxsie Sioux. She was lead singer of "Siouxsie and the Banshees" in the 70s and 80s. "Israel" was released as a stand-alone single in 1980 and later released on the album "Once Upon a Time/The Singles". This is from an article written by Rosalie Bradshaw on the meaning of the song.
The Orphans in the Snow
The opening verses of “Israel” paint a picture of little orphans in the snow, desperately singing and waiting for a sign. The lyrics evoke a sense of longing and isolation, with the orphans representing those who are marginalized and left without a home. Siouxsie’s powerful vocals bring forth the emotional weight of their plight.
